A new version of Adobe Flash Player 9 is out in version 9.0.124.0, according to Adobe Systems . Adobe Flash Player 9.0.124.0 includes many new security enhancements. Cross-domain network headers are now allowed through the use of cross-domain policy files. The cross-domain policy file is required for both sending and loading requests. All socket connections now require the use of a socket policy file. HTTP cross-domain policy files can no longer be used to authorize a socket.
Here are the fixes made to the newer version:
- A media streaming security vulnerability was fixed in both Flash Player and Flash Media Server. As a result, Flash Media Interactive Server 3 and Flash Media Streaming Server 3 customers who are streaming H.264 content to Flash Player 9.0.124.0 or higher will need to upgrade their server to version 3.0.1.
- When html/SWF is in the local sandbox, getURL calls fail with Flash Player 9.0.115.0 in IE7. These calls will no longer fail in 9.0.124.0.
- A run-time warning has been added to the debug player in version 9.0.124.0 to reflect that AllowScriptAccess=”never” has been deprecated.
- Full-screen playback shows black triangles in Flash Player 9.0.115.0 on ATI cards on Microsoft Vista.
- Authorization header has been reinstated in Flash Player 9.0.124.0.

Recently Adobe Systems has released a new version of their Macromedia Shockwave Player . With Macromedia Shockwave Player you can enjoy animation and entertainment created with Macromedia Director Shockwave Studio. New in this release is Shockwave Remote, which allows you to save your favorite Shockwave and Flash content locally for enhanced playback online or offline. Also, you can send Shockwave titles to your friends, and search for Shockwave and Flash content. In addition, you can use Shockwave Remote to pause, play, and restart content. I guess Adobe is really stepping their game up.

According to Adobe Systems , Adobe AIR is a cross-operating system runtime being developed by Adobe that allows developers to leverage their existing web development skills (Flash, Flex, HTML, JavaScript, Ajax) to build and deploy rich Internet applications (RIAs) to the desktop. AIR enables developers to create applications that combine the benefits of Web applications – network and user connectivity, rich media content, ease of development, and broad reach – with the strengths of desktop applications -application interactions, local resource access, personal settings, powerful functionality, and rich interactive experiences.
This may seem like computer mumbo jumbo to some, but in reality it shows how innovation is coming along in today’s technological world. Hopefully this can help in the video arena.

Adobe Ultra is a vector keying application, distributed as a component of the Adobe Creative Suite CS3. Ultra utilizes image analysis technology to produce high quality chroma key effects in less than ideal lighting environments. Ultra also includes virtual set technology, which allows the keying of a subject into a virtual 3D environment. Ultra allows users to transform keying into a practical daily production tool for all types of video projects. Create highly realistic background composites with drag-and-drop simplicity, even from marginal video sources; customize virtual sets with convincing effects like virtual shadows and reflections; and output in broadcast quality to a wide range of advanced file formats.
There you have it! The entire Creative Suite 3 box of applications has now been introduced to you all. It’s been over a month and I love having the ability to tell people about Adobe’s amazing creation. Any other program reviews in mind?
