Anna Maria Island

Thanks to Olga Quinn

As a self-proclaimed “bargain-shopper,” I am always on the hunt for a fabulous price on anything. I have vowed to never pay full-price for anything from retail to travel. I logged on to http://www.wildbluedeals.com/ to research the benefits of satellite internet. While doing so, I got side-tracked into searching for a place to stay during spring break week in April. I logged on to one of my favorite vacation home website, vrbo.com, to look for some private homes along Anna Maria Island in south Florida. I was so impressed with the homes that I found! Anna Maria is a quaint town a bit south of Bradenton, FL. The island runs about six miles down the Gulf Coast, and most of the homes are bungalow style. There are very few condos on the island. The few that exist are only mid-rise buildings, so very few places have an obstructed view of the ocean and the crystal-white beaches. The restaurants on the island are all locally owned and operated enhancing the charm and appeal of staying here. If you want to get away from crowded, commercialized tourist-traps, Anna Maria Island seems like the perfect destination for a bargain price.
