DivX 6.8.2 Released

DivX has just released a newer version of their codec. DivX 6.8.2 introduced two major improvements over older versions – multithreaded decoding and support for custom quantization matrices.

According to the website these are the new fixes made to the codec:

  • When videos that have non-square aspect ratios are moved across dual monitors the aspect ratio is now correctly preserved.
  • It is now possible to play DivX 3.11 videos when "Use advanced hardware overlay" is enabled in the decoder configuration utility.
  • Custom quantization matrices containing the ASCII end-of-file character are now loaded correctly.
  • The "Browse Matrices" button in the encoder UI is now available consistently when the quantization type is set to "MPEG-2 Custom".
  • The codec should no longer output licensing messages to the console.

What is GoToMeeting?

Physical meetings have a lot of downsides, such as the time and money lost traveling to them. Stop the waste—start GoToMeeting , one of the most effective ways to get things done in a group. I use the service for presenting pitches to clients, to go over documents with colleagues, and even to confer with my attorney and review QuickBooks transactions with my accountant. These cyber-conferences let me get on the same page with business associates quickly and make things happen.

GoToMeeting is still a great tool for scheduled and ad hoc Web-based meetings, and it lets users easily share applications and information. It has a easily managed interface. Allows private and group chat, screen- and application-sharing, and changing of presenters.
